Needles to say I canceled the other order and am glad to say I have settled for handguard I can be happy with, "for now" lol!. However, after vigilantly and continuously searching, I found the UTG PRO 15" super slim for $99 shipped today. So Mlok made the most sense, and that's why I originally went with the ALG V1. Then I got hung up on resale value and what would re-sell easier and be able to get as much of my money back as possible. Only what's absolutely necessary and what my needs are at this time in my life and skill level. I'm NOT one of those guys that needs/desires all that tacticool stuff or "have to put as much cool, new, latest and greatest tactical stuff as possible on my rifle build as I can" kind of guy. I had actually ordered the ALG V1 for ultimate weight savings and for my needs it was perfect. I was pretty dead set on Mlok, (can't stand the look of keymod rails). I would have obviously liked to have gotten one of those $200-300 handguards, but why pay so much when you can get something decent or just as great for half the price? I also have been out of work for a solid year so I needed to make the money I did have go as far as possible and still needed sights for my new AR15. I narrowed my choices down to the same 3 tube rails. If not, let's keep brand trashing out of this please. If anyone has any real world experience as to why I should look elsewhere, please. Based on reviews from all over the net and the fact that I am leaning towards 15" the UTG is looking good. I simply do not have hundreds of dollars to spend on a forend. I was between the ALG Defense, UTG and MWI. It's also one of the few forends available in a 15" length that doesn't cost a fortune. And reading reviews on this specific forend people seem to be generally pleased with it. While I wouldn't buy any airsoft stuff to put on a real rifle- even though I've seen it done a few times- the US UTG stuff is actually made for real centerfire rifles. I used to be pretty into airsoft and UTG was a main name for accessories and such. I also haven't found any really negative reviews on it other than people saying "UTG makes airsoft stuff." True, and a lot of it was cheap imported junk. May not be a Geiselle, but it's also less than half the price. I've actually handled the UTG Super Slim and it is far from junk.
